Update on prayer request

A couple of posts ago I requested prayer for a young lady in our church. Thanks so much for those of you who have been praying for her, we still very much need prayers lifted for her and her family... here is the latest update:


K has been diagnosed with Polyarteritis nodosa. Basically, it is an infection or inflammation of the small or medium arteries in the body that results in weakening and damage to the arteries involved. Often, clotting occurs in addition to the bleeding. We should continue to pray for wisdom for the medical team and give praise to God for revealing the condition so quickly to the physicians.

K's hematicrit was down from 29 to 25 at 12 midnight. Basically the crit as it is usually called is an indicator of anemia or blood loss. It is the percentage of red blood cells in the blood when it is spun down. When the number is dropping you are losing blood somewhere. So normal is in the 40s and we need it to stay in the 20s or they will consider a blood transfusion.

K is a very sick girl. This sickness is rare in someone her age and they are not sure which treatment they should go with because they do not have definitive answers in some areas.

Pray that the Lord will touch her body and heal her. Pray for her parents and her sister, for rest, for peace, for wisdom, guidance, and for comfort.
