Thankful Thursday

Another Thursday is here... it seems the week just speeds by and before I know it another week has vanished!  I have good intentions of doing other blog posts, have a few floating around in my mind, but have not found the time to "get them on paper".  So in my effort to be more intentional about being thankful here is my thankful Thursday post for this week...

I am thankful for:

  1. My double blessings... this week they turned 9!  My, they are growing up!
  2. The privilege of studying God's Word with other ladies at Community Bible Study... today a precious lady shared her testimony.  She grew up with a very abusive father, was 1 of 6 children, yet her mother took her to church, her teachers had daily devotions, prayed with their class, and taught the Bible... in public school.  She came to know Christ at an early age, and God gifted her with an excellent reading ability at an early age... so much so that she read God's Word through, cover to cover, while in the 2nd grade!  She said she savored every word, every line, and every page!  Can you imagine hungering for God's Word at such a young age??  I was encouraged to not take His Word for granted, and to pray for my children to hunger and thirst for His Word so much that they read it without being prodded to...
  3. The strength and energy to run!  And the occasional run with a friend out running at the same time!
  4. Sunshine!  We have had some beautiful days after a long, dreary, cloudy, rainy week last week...
  5. Books to read...
  6. Like-minded friends... the Lord has blessed me with a couple of wonderful, like-minded, homeschooling moms of boys, both of whom I got to spend time with this week...
  7. Little boys giggles and little boy hugs...
  8. My husband, and the little things he does to help me and make my days go smoother...
  9. The privilege of prayer...
  10. The constant presence of my Lord and Savior through His Holy Spirit...

Take time to stop and give thanks for the blessings in your life, big and small... it may just refresh a tired and weary heart!
