I read the following this morning and just wanted to share it here...
It addresses how God uses suffering in our lives... and let's face it, we all have some sort of suffering in our lives. Sometimes it is a season of intense suffering, and other times the suffering is more bearable but it still hurts...
God uses suffering to purge sin from our lives, strengthen our commitment to Him, force us to depend on his grace, bind us together with other believers, yield discernment, foster sensitivity, discipline our minds, impart wisdom, stretch our hope, cause us to know Christ better, make us long for truth, lead us to repentance of sin, teach us to give thanks in times of sorrow, increase our faith, and strengthen our character. And once He accomplishes such great things, often we can see in part what we will one day see in full - that our suffering has been worth it.
Lord, though you have redeemed us, we are yet incomplete, in need of your daily touch and refinement. Thank you for using adverse circumstances, disappointment, discouragement, frustration, and uncertainty, along with our ailments, to transform us into Christ's likeness. May we submit ourselves to your chisel, making transformation easier for us and more honoring to you.

Are you able to thank God for the hard things and the suffering in your life?
